Wasabi. Who'd have thought?

The Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich is pretty much an institution. But looking for an option with a little more zing than our classic homemade mayo, we were experimenting and mixed in a little wasabi sauce to make this surprising little taste sensation.

Measure your portions in your Portion Perfect bento box's containers, and you can't go wrong. Here's what we've got in our bento, below.

BLT Wrap portion perfect with bacon, tomato, lettuce, avocado, wasabi

Ingredients

  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1 whole wheat flour tortilla
  • 2 large slices of iceberg lettuce
  • 4 slices medium tomato
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1 teaspoon homemade mayo (not shown)
  • 1 dash of wasabi sauce

How To

  1. Bake bacon slices at 400 for 15 minutes, longer according to taste.
  2. Heat tortilla over low heat for one minute each side to warm.
  3. Layer lettuce over tortilla, adding bacon, tomato and avocado in strips.
  4. Roll the wrap up, secure with a food pick, shown here in Nature.
  5. Mix mayo and wasabi sauce, reserve for later and prep it to go in your smallest lidded container, for drizzling or dipping at lunchtime.

Wrap it up the night before, take the wasabi mix on the side, and it's ready when you are.
