Make sure to write this recipe down for the future- these sesame noodles are so easy to make and your family will definitely love it! Whenever your family is craving Chinese food, make this healthier alternative, which reminds us of our favorite lo mein dish.

With whole wheat pasta, snow peas and peppers, this dish packs in the fiber and nutrients. It’s perfect to whip up a big batch for lunch or a quick dinner.

Here’s how we made it:

  • ½ pound linguine pasta
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons chopped scallions
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro
  • 2 cups snow pea pods, trimmed and sliced in half
  • ½ red bell pepper, chopped
  • Teaspoon red pepper flakes

Boil water and cook pasta until tender, about 9 to 11 minutes. While pasta is cooking, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, olive oil, rice wine vinegar, scallions and cilantro. When pasta is done, stir in sauce, snow peas, peppers and red pepper flakes. Stir in sesame seeds before serving and garnish with a few scallion slices.
