Earlier this week, we shared how we would pack our festive kid’s holiday bento box. The holiday spirit isn’t just for the kids- you can also pack your own healthy holiday bento box that’s perfect for taking on the go or eating at work!
Make a Christmas tree by packing your container with white or brown rice. Then, layer some green herbs in the shape of a triangle over the rice. We used scallions and basil.
Hint: It’s helpful to use a triangle cookie cutter, or make your own stencil out of paper. You can also use chives, cilantro, mint, or tarragon or a combination of many different herbs and spices. For the trunk, we used sesame seeds and finished with a star sprinkle on top!
Next, we combined kiwi and pomegranate seeds for a red and green fruit container. For an extra protein boost, we included hard-boiled eggs.
In the other large container, we made our easy chicken fajitas. For this healthy holiday bento box, we stuck to using only green and red peppers with some onions. To beat the afternoon cravings, we also packed a small container of almonds.
We packed it all to go in our turquoise insulated lunch bag. What gets you through the last few days of work before the holidays?
