Today is the last day of January, which means that Groundhog Day is just around the corner! Every year on February 2nd, Punxsutawney Phil emerges from his burrow to either reveal his shadow, which means winter will persist for six more weeks, or no shadow, which means the spring season will arrive early. Get festive this year with this Groundhog Day bento box!
To make the groundhog, take two cooked tater tots and stick them together with a toothpick. Break another tater tot into small pieces and roll them up to form the ears and paws of the groundhog.
We used candy eyes, which we stuck onto the tater tots with mustard. For the teeth, we cut thin slices of a cheese stick. The nose is a sunflower seed!
Our groundhog’s burrow is made out of mashed potatoes in our lime green bento divider. He’s nestled in with some purple and green grapes and sliced celery.
